About Me

Abeer El-Zaher, founder of Elevated Literacy Atelier

Hi! My name is Abeer El-Zaher. I am an educator, lifelong learner, learning professional, and self-published author. I've always been deeply introspective and curious about how people learn, grow, communicate, and make meaning of the world around them. I believe education is a fundamental right and that no person should be defined by perceived academic limitations.

I bring nine years of education and program experience. My early work centered on creating curricula and STEM programs for K–12 students, and my background has since grown to span adult learning, higher education, K–20 STEM education, teacher professional development, student support, organizational development, and systems thinking. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Adult & Organizational Development from Temple University and completed graduate coursework in Organizational Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania. These experiences shaped my belief that meaningful learning develops self-confidence, critical thinking, communication, and self-awareness.

I'm also the self-published author of The Musings of Auset', a body of poetry rooted in introspection, personal growth, and reflection. Writing has deepened my appreciation for language, vocabulary, interpretation, and self-expression. Perspectives that I carry with me everywhere.

I created Elevated Literacy Atelier as a refined, personalized learning experience for children and adults. For children, my offerings center on reading development, phonics, reading comprehension, writing, language development, and individualized academic enrichment. For adults, I provide literary reading comprehension, writing, and language support centered on personal and professional growth, designed to strengthen communication, build confidence, and advance lifelong learning goals.

Every experience is thoughtfully tailored to the learner, not simply to address what they may be struggling with, but to cultivate what they are capable of becoming. My goal is to make learning feel personal, intellectually engaging, and empowering.

How do I get started?

First, complete the intake form on the Children or Adults page. Second, schedule a 15-minute Discovery Call. Third, once both are complete and the $150 assessment fee is paid, an Initial Learning Assessment is conducted.

What is the Initial Learning Assessment, and what does it cost?

It is a structured look at the learner's current skills, goals, strengths, and areas requiring additional support. The fee is $150. It applies to every program and to Monthly Support, and it is applied toward your total. It does not apply to the one-time session. The assessment is conducted once the intake form and discovery call are complete and the fee is paid.

How long is a semester, a school year, and the summer program?

Children's programs follow the Georgia school calendar. A semester is 18 weeks, a school year is 38 weeks, and the Summer Intensive is 8 weeks.

How do adult programs work?

Adult programs run by the quarter: Literacy Foundation (3 months), Literacy Development (6 months), Comprehensive Literacy Atelier (9 months), and Signature Year (12 months). Each includes 12 private weekly sessions per quarter and builds on the one before it, and longer programs have a lower rate per quarter.

How is progress shared?

For children, written progress reports are provided at the midpoint and end of every program. For adults, feedback reports are provided.

Where and how long are sessions?

All sessions are 60 minutes and in person, at mutually convenient public locations throughout the Atlanta Metropolitan area.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes. Semesters and the Summer Intensive can be paid in full or in 2 payments. The school year can be paid in full or in 4 payments. The 3-month adult program can be paid in 3 monthly payments, and longer adult programs can be paid one quarter at a time.

What is your refund, cancellation, and rescheduling policy?

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows count as a used session. For refunds and withdrawals, see the full .

Can I book a single session?

Yes. A one-time 60-minute private session is $70 and is available once per learner.

Is there a month-to-month option for children?

Yes. Monthly Support is $350 a month for 4 private sessions, one a week, and can be stopped any month. The $150 assessment fee is applied toward your first month.

Do you offer small-group sessions?

If two or more families at the same school and grade level are interested, ask about forming a small-group pod of 3–5 learners during your discovery call.
